How to Use:
- Set Up Your Machine Select your coverstitch typewide, narrow, or tripleand set the stitch length to 3.0. Attach the mounting plate to your machine using the two screws provided.
- Attach the Hemmer Place the hemmer onto the mounting plate and slide it to the right. Secure it with the two thumb screws and washers.
- Prepare the Hem Fold up a 1″ (25 mm) hem on your fabric and finger press the first few inches in place to get it started.
- Feed the Fabric With the fabric right side up, slide it into the hemmer from the right, allowing the fold to curl under the attachment smoothly.
- Position the Fabric Raise the presser foot and pull the fabric under it and 12 inches (23 cm) straight behind the needle. Lower the presser foot and turn the handwheel to make a few stitches to anchor the fabric.
- Check Stitch Placement Sew a few test stitches to check the placement. If adjustments are needed, loosen the thumb screws and move the hemmer left or right to align with your desired stitch line.
Tip: Always test on a scrap piece before sewing your final project.
- Maintain the Fold As you sew, ensure the fabric stays folded as it feeds into the hemmerthis will keep the hem rolling smoothly under the foot for a professional finish.
