Certified 100% organic wool yarn is hand spun and dyed in Rwanda by the ladies ofHandspun Hope.

The wool from their flock of Merino sheepistriple-washedbeforetheladiesofHandspunHopebegincreatingyarnusingtheage-oldcraftofspinningwithonlywheelsandhandtools.It is then dyed in baths created from native Rwandan plants, giving our palette like none other in the world.Theprojectgivesover120women,mostofthemwidowsandorphanedsurvivorsofthe1994Genocide against the Tutsi,dignifiedemployment.

Handspun Hope isTrue Vineyard’sprimary vehicle in using work-based solutions to poverty through the employment of 120+ marginalized women and widows in Musanze, Rwanda. Handspun Hope is an initiative based on the belief that solutions to poverty should be entrepreneurial, innovative and holistic. Handspun Hope is a certified member of the Fair Trade Federation. In fact, Handspun Hope is the only creator of yarn certified by the Fair Trade Federation.
